ASAB Virtual conference Code of Conduct
The experience of the ASAB virtual conference should be that of an inclusive, safe, and productive event. To do this we are committed to making this virtual space welcoming for all. Therefore, we expect all participants of the conference to adhere to the ASAB Virtual Conference Code of Conduct outlined below. Please note that we reserve the right to remove any delegates that are not adhering to these behaviours (see Terms and Conditions for more information).
For delegates experiencing unacceptable behaviour:
Please contact the conference organiser or one of the conference moderators if you are experiencing behaviour that breaks our Code of Conduct. Conference organisers and moderators will be labelled with badges on the conference website. Alternatively, contact us by email (ASABvirtual2020@gmail.com) or by our Contact Us page. All reports will be kept confidential.
Treat all conference participants with respect, courtesy, and consideration.
Value the diversity of opinions and views that other conference participants have.
Avoid personal attacks are other delegates, and only critique ideas rather than personal critiques.
Request permission from the conference organiser and the speaker before recording video / audio presentations and discussions.
Presenters may request that their presentation is not shared on social media, and all attendees must respect this.
Being conscientious of ensuring that others have the opportunity to speak in group meetings.
Do not send abusive messages to any conference delegates, organisers, exhibitors, or any other meeting guest.
We have a zero-tolerance policy to bullying, harassment, and intimidation. This includes but is not limited to: negative comments about any protected categories (e.g ethnicity, gender, sexual, orientation, disability).
Do not disrupt any aspect of the virtual meeting, or interrupt the speakers and presenters.
Do not use the chat windows or online forms to share inappropriate content or spam, which includes avoiding using flashing gif images.
Do no sexually harass delegates or share inappropriate images.
Conference organisers and moderators will contact anyone not following the conference Code of Conduct. We reserve the right to remove any delegate from the meeting and prohibit attendance for future conferences.
